We can't all be equal
To be equal implies sharing the wealth, but as the communist model shows, life gravitates to the lowest common denominator because without motivation other than threats, little gets built. Because of this, wealth is minimised unless people are pushed to work hard.
In the capitalist model, people can choose to work hard to advance themselves, whilst those that seek an easier life are 'rewarded' with less income, but generally speaking the capitalist model has shown a significant increase in public and private wealth compared to other models.
Whether you like it or not, people must work and work hard to advance our life and our species, if not, we will stay in 'caves' forever.
There are many people that 'bleat' like sheep about how unfair things are, about how everyone should have more things, even though they don't want to work hard for them. These people don't live in the real world because things don't just get built unless someone builds them and no one will build them unless they are motivated. But here is the important thing, not everybody needs to build the same things. We don't NEED 6 billion doctors, lawyers, accountants, dentists etc. we mostly need workers. Billions of workers that produce things that improve our standard of living. NOT everyone can or should have the highest education. NOT everyone can or should have the highest education because there is no point to learn physics if you are going to be a sanitation worker.
Next time you complain that the government is being unfair with its policies toward free education, or towards enough places in University for some positions, ask yourselves...
Who will build our magnificent cities, if not the working class of people? Who will stock the supermarket shelves, repair the streets and empty the garbage etc., if not the working class people?
...but who will be the working class if we all have access to good education and high salaries?
The reality is that although society needs doctors, lawyers and other professionals, we need many more unskilled white and blue collar workers, ALL in relative proportions.
Although that is through natural leaning and intelligence in part, it is also necessary to apply other means so that the balances are kept and unfortunately there are going to be people that are in the wrong place and the wrong time. Get used to it!
It is simply not viable to unbalance the volumes and therefore the question is raised - Who should be the ones that can be at the top of the tree and how do we select them?
