Barack Obama - the new Messiah, or just a naughty boy?

Topic Image

Apologies perhaps to the movie 'Life of Brian' but the charismatic appeal, created by clever media spin as well as the natural charm of Barack Obama, combined with the negative political mood in America has created a scenario that people worship the new President and almost expect that he will walk on water someday soon. Regardless of whether you think he is good for the US and indeed the world in general or not, has he been playing unfairly on this artificial public histeria in order to fulfil his and the US Democratic adgendas? Politics should truly be about the people, so is he coyly using his unrealistic popularity to garnish support on the pretence of the perception of being a modern day Saviour in order to really help the people, or is he esentially the same as all those that have come before by manipulating us through using whatever means possible to cement his power? Is he really just a naughty boy?
