Equal rights for children
There is a saying that we are all born equal, which is clearly not the case for any number of reasons. It is a reality that depending on your race, location, paretnal wealth and indeed parental attitutes, the potential of each child is different. Parents don't own their children but are charged with their care in accordance to public standards, however many children miss out on opportunities in all aspects of life that would benefit them and in time perhaps society. Should ALL children have the opportunities to succeed, by receiving free goverment finacial help in schooling, as well as access to other developmental opportunities, in sport, music, art, travel the best Universities etc. etc. In other words, should being wealthy or well connected be nullified, as well as parental controls that restrict their childrens rights to participate in such things be changed?
